Our next monthly gathering is Tuesday, 18 August at the Kingborough Women’s Club (KWC) Rooms.
The Tuesday 9-1 gathering will continue to be $5 per person to attend at KWC.
If members are ONLY attending the Tuesday meeting and NOT Sunday, KWC have generously said they do not have to also join KWC.
The southern group had a busy month in July, with our inaugural and very popular De-stash Market taking place at Kingborough Women’s Club on Sunday July 12th. Many fabrics, books, threads and yarns changed hands, and we had a great time chatting to the public about our love of textiles. Art from the estate of Ken Smith sold out completely, raising close to $800 for bowel cancer research. Many thanks to all the helpers during the planning and on the day, and also to those who donated goods to raise funds for Stitching and Beyond.
We also enjoyed our monthly show and tell meeting on July 21st, where members shared diverse works in progress including knitting, embroidery and Viking weave of fine wire, as well as books, ideas and fashion knowledge.
