Northern group (Riverside) report
Launceston members have been busy. Here is what they got up to at their last gathering
We had a wonderful day at the Studio yesterday playing with screen printing. Jane Roberts led the group in an exploratory foray into the world of screens, colour, squeegies, stencil and prints using the simplest of techniques. Using acrylic paints mixed with extender, we were able to create multiple prints on paper as well as fabric. It was a lesson in remembering for most. What fun !! Our play days are facilitated by “shopping” in each other’s stashes : reuse, repurpose and redistribute.
Over the next couple of months Northern Group members are busy. Christine Davson-Galle has work in an exhibtion at the new gallery at the Wilmot Hills Orchard & Distillery. Marilyn Theissel has had a textile piece accepted for the DADA Museum new Surrealist exhibition in Launceston and Lynne Hargreaves will be showing her monumental 15.5m Hargreux work at Island Quilts in conjunction with Craft Alive 8-10th at Mac02. You must see it.
