Our next monthly gathering is Tuesday, 21st July. Please note the change of day and venue … at the Kingborough Women’s Club (KWC) Rooms.
The Tuesday 9-1 gathering will continue to be $5 per person to attend at KWC.
If members are ONLY attending the Tuesday meeting and NOT Sunday, KWC have generously said they do not have to also join KWC.
The southern group met on Tuesday 16th June and as usual, we were able to share a huge variety of works in progress, ideas, techniques and inspiration. These included machine embroidery, lino-cut printing onto shibori dyed fabrics, artist’s books, baskets made from recycled materials, artworks made from sari silks, and three-dimensional embroidery created by members after the wonderful recent Stitching and Beyond workshop taught by Irene Manion. We were enlightened and inspired by hearing in detail from Nicola Oliver about her recent experiences learning from felt-making masters in Hungary and seeing traditional Hungarian textiles.
