July LET’S EXPLORE – Let’s play with our Gelli Plates

July 5th 2026 @ 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM at Kingborough Women’s Club Rooms

So many are enjoying using gelli plates we thought it would be fun to make this July’s theme, no one to lead, just printing on paper or fabric and sharing ideas. Please don’t feel under any obligation to join in – of course you can continue with your own projects!

Please bring

*All the gear you normally use, plus

*An open mind and a sense of adventure

*A large plastic cover to protect your table

*A kitty litter tray – no accidental drips on carpet !!

*A garbage bag or similar for laying out prints to dry

*Notebook and pen for noting down useful ideas and tips others may share

The June LET’S EXPLORE was highly successful. Chris writes: The year is ticking by, and we certainly all appreciated the cosy warmth afforded to us by the KWC rooms in this, the first month of winter. Such a great space.

This month Shirley inspired us with the clever stitching of Mary Rhodes. Of course, Shirley had a small mountain of exquisitely stitched samples, beginning with her work from Mary’s workshop through to her fabulous quilt we saw at the 2005 OoH exhibition. We all thoroughly enjoyed seeing how versatile and useful this stitch  can be.

Of course, we also enjoyed ongoing projects people bought along, but the highlight was certainly seeing the product of  Nicola’s study tour of Hungarian felting – so many wonderful new techniques that will most certainly contribute to her future artistic output. The level of the skills Nicola  acquired is quite humbling.
