Let’s Explore … Procion Tray Dye Fabrics and Threads: At our next Let’s Explore Day on 20th November we will enjoy experimenting with some simple but exciting ideas of applying dye to fabric and thread. Come along with some ideas, fabrics and threads and other supplies – dyes, salt, urea, soda ash are all provided – and have a fabulous day creating and chatting with like-minded textile lovers! There’s lots of room at the Kingston Women’s Club Rooms, always lots of discussion and great company.
Please be aware that road closures will be in place for Point to Pinnacle on 20th November so, if you are planning to travel from the city, you may need to choose a different route.
In October, members enjoyed a day of chatting and playing with creative stitch techniques. Stitching and Beyond member and Workshops Co-ordinator Roz had a great time stitching among friends old and new:
“It’s a lovely thing to spend time in the company of interesting people who have a love of stitching in common. Indeed, the theme of the most recent Let’s Explore day was stitching, so many pieces of stitched work were passed around and admired. Participants then worked on their own projects with notably more success than mine! My visible mending on an old silk dressing gown collar was not completely satisfactory but there’s always value in experimentation!
