exploring textile boundaries

Gathering News

Our next get together is a members-only Play Day on Sunday December 5 exploring effects in embedding and embellishing textiles. Members please check the event listing for full details and a list of what to bring.  This play day replaces the December Thursday gathering.

Members at the  November Monday gathering shared wonderful work and ideas ranging from embroidered pillows and slippers, wire covered gum nuts, eco-dyeing, stitched fragment work and rust dyeing with rusted metal found in a street gutter through to insect portraits, stitched tyre tracks, knitting and cassette tape containers to display small pieces of work.

You can see images of the shared work in our Gallery.

Members were reminded to update their member information on the new website. This is vital for us to be able to contact members and ensure we are providing them with the most relevant information.

We are still seeking members to help organize the Annual Challenge.  Please consider joining the Challenge committee.  Having more people involved in various roles helps share the work load.

A selection of books and magazines were available for a $2 donation to Rotary.  These will also be available at the next Monday gathering.

The next Monday gathering is on December 13.  Come along, share your work, ideas, have a chat and be amazed at what other members are doing.  Please check the event listing for full details.
