In her workshop, “Margaret & Charles Rennie Mackintosh – Colour Matching”, Gemma led SandB members to take a look at the art & lettering of the Arts & Crafts movement of the late 1800s and early 1900s. They then explored the works of Margaret & Charles Rennie Mackintosh and “The Four”. Working in graphite and colour pencil on watercolour paper and black fine art paper students worked by colour matching and produced samplers with a substantial 1920s nouveau and deco feel. Drawing and painting techniques were developed to this end. These are images of the work from students in the two day workshop.
