A small group of members enjoyed a wonderful eco-printing taster at the lovely home and studio of Franklin-based artist Linda Chee. It was a day of experiences with participants enjoying the beautiful surrounds and views of the Huon River, the striking architecture and wonderful landscaping of Linda’s home and studio, the barista-style coffee and yummy cakes and of course, the wonderful display of work in Linda’s maker studio and shop.
Participants enjoyed selecting, treating and arranging eucalyptus leaves, twigs and bark on woollen socks provided by Linda. While the bundles “cooked” in the dye vats, there was time for lunch in the village of Franklin and some relaxing time stitching with eco-dyed scraps. Participants unbundled their dyed socks the following day at home and kindly shared images. Such colour and pattern! The results achieved are a great testament to the expert knowledge imparted by Linda.
If you get the chance we recommend a visit to Linda’s studio and shop, Geckostrands.
