Before settling down to their own projects, the Northern members had an interesting time examining the behaviour of heat bondable angelina fibres and the roll that they could play in our stitching. The use of a crafters soldering iron to cut and carve fabric was also demonstrated together with heat-distressed fabrics. A member shared some excellent books from her personal library and others avidly examined those relating to bondable fibres and dissolvable fabrics and stabilisers.
Meanwhile in the South, we shared an excellent day with time to chat, explore, share and discuss, problem solve and generally socialise. Many of us took advantage of the fundraiser to support young sewers, adding to our ever-growing stash of supplies!
