Rosny Schoolhouse Gallery – Slow Slow Slow by Eloise Kirk, Genevieve Griffiths, Kim JaegerSlow, Slow, Slow explores the materiality of textiles, paint and clay and the processes used to make the work.  These soft materials absorb and mark time. The three artists, Eloise Kirk, Genevieve Griffiths and Kim Jaeger each employ a practice of patience in their art making.  From the shifting expanses of paintings and ceramics to the intimacy of needle work and weaving, Slow, Slow, Slow is an exercise in thinking and feeling at the same time.

Exhibition runs 4 – 27 August
Gallery open Wednesday – Sunday 10am – 4pm

Moonah Arts Centre – One ApieceOne apiece invited Tasmanian artists working in a range of media to experiment with textiles, creating an artwork beyond what is familiar to them, exploring how each artist’s primary practice might influence or inform the making of a quilt. These works sit within the realm of what is often considered domestic arts – a sphere marked by intimacy that reflects ideas of home – but these works speak of a broader world.

Exhibition runs 11 August – 2 September
