Let’s Explore – Tsung Tse (Chinese Dragon Boat)
February 2 2025 @ 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
This month Jen Westren will demonstrate how to make a Chinese Dragon Boat, or Tsung-Tse. These can be made into ornaments to hang on the Christmas tree, or jewellery (e.g. necklace, earrings) or strung together in different sizes to make colourful mobiles.
The Tsung-Tse is a symbol for the Dragon Boat Festival in China. It is originally the name of a food served during the festival made from rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves. Dragon Boats were fashionable in the ancient courts as elaborate wrappings for important gifts.
