Let’s Explore – Making Stencils & Printing Blocks

Explore different ways of making printing blocks and stencils. Use stitch to create a printing plate. Use plasticine to create a printing block and use it with a stamp pad. Have you tried using Tyvek to make stencils? Cardboard makes a great printing plate.

Come along and try some or all of these methods. If you have any examples of printing blocks and stencils you have made, please bring them to share with the group.

We will be exploring ways of using our handmade stencils and printing blocks at the following month’s Let’s Explore day.

Heather will be leading our exploration this month. She has kindly provided some inspiring images of fabrics printed with her own handmade blocks.

What to bring

We have provided a long list of possible equipment and materials to consider.  Just bring what you already have in your stash!
