Textiles for Deborah Campbell have always been an important element of her artistic expression. She takes inspiration from Scotland’s coastal landscape and the bird life that inhabits that environment. Deborah trained in Printed Textiles at Glasgow School of Art and has a wide knowledge and experience of printing on fabric.
Print to Stitch
In this workshop, Deborah will introduce you to exciting ways of creating your own unique fabrics using Collagraph and Intaglio printing processes.
You will create printing plates using recycled materials and Drypoint plates which you will ink up and put through a press. You will learn how to mix up textures through collaging before adding embellishment using free motion machine and hand embroidery to create a beautiful textile artwork.
