Stitched Portraits – CANCELLED
October 23 @ 9:30 AM - October 24 @ 4:30 PM$160.00
Sadly we have had to cancel Nicole’s workshop due to insufficient registered participants. A full refund will be made to those who had booked a ticket.
We are sorry for the inconvenience.
A two-day workshop to understand the principles of using embroidery for portraiture, with artist Nicole O’Loughlin.
Nicole will share her knowledge of creating contemporary embroidery works so that participants have the tools to create their own embroidered portraits.
She will provide instructions from initial planning and drafting the design, to the final framing. Through the workshop you will learn how to source materials, draw up the plan and transfer the design onto materials, decide on colours (including skin tones) and stitching techniques, as well as use other mediums, including paint, in the background of your work.
To get the most out of this workshop it is advised you come with a selected portrait you wish to stitch, as well as the recommended materials and supplies. You will be advised of this list prior to the workshop.
Tickets on sale Friday 24 September. If you are not currently a financial member of Stitching and Beyond, you will be given the option to pay the annual subscription fee before your ticket purchase.
